Description

  • Build and maintain mobile-first giving forms, giving pages, and administrative tools focused on conversion and accessibility.
  • Develop and improve one-time, recurring, membership, ACH, Stripe, and digital wallet payment flows.
  • Work across frontend components, backend services, database queries, and performance optimization.
  • Own small-to-medium projects from technical design and implementation through testing, deployment, and production support.
  • Collaborate with Tech Leads, Product Managers, Designers, and engineers to translate user and business needs into technical solutions.
  • Participate in sprint planning, story scoping, estimation, code reviews, and acceptance-criteria refinement.
  • Write clean, tested, and documented code while contributing to technical debt reduction and coding standards.
  • Support interviewing, onboarding, mentoring, and helping teammates resolve technical issues.
  • Participate in team support and paired 24/7 on-call rotations, including reconciliation, recurring-gift, reporting, and configuration issues.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of hands-on software development experience.
  • Full-stack proficiency with a modern frontend framework such as React or Vue.js and a backend language/framework such as Ruby on Rails, Node.js, or Python; Rails and React preferred.
  • Experience contributing to technical designs and breaking features into incrementally shippable work.
  • Strong SQL skills, including schema design, query optimization, and data integrity.
  • Experience building and integrating RESTful APIs.
  • Experience with unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
  • Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or similar cloud platforms and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong debugging, communication, ownership, and judgment in production environments.
  • User-focused approach to engineering decisions affecting donors, school administrators, and fundraising results.
  • Preferred: payments experience with Stripe, ACH, digital wallets, webhooks, idempotency, retries, reconciliation, or third-party testing.
  • Preferred: Ruby on Rails, RSpec, consumer checkout or donation flows, fintech/e-commerce/fundraising products, caching, observability, performance troubleshooting, or frontend design experience.
