Description

  • Own and manage a mid-market book of business as the primary point of contact for new and expansion opportunities.
  • Work with customer accounts in the 250 to 1,999 employee range across varying deal sizes and complexity.
  • Articulate GitLab’s value to prospects and customers and tailor messaging to their business and technical needs.
  • Build and maintain a healthy pipeline through prospecting, qualification, and opportunity advancement.
  • Document buying criteria, decision processes, next steps, and stakeholders to run disciplined sales cycles.
  • Collaborate with sales development, customer success, renewals, marketing, technical teams, partners, and sales leadership to coordinate account strategies and close opportunities.
  • Support customer adoption, reduce churn and contraction, and participate in quarterly forecasting and territory planning.
  • Share win/loss insights, update the sales handbook, and provide customer feedback through GitLab’s public issue tracker.

Requirements

  • Experience selling SaaS solutions through value-based conversations with technical and business stakeholders, ideally including development or DevSecOps teams.
  • Ability to manage a broad mid-market territory and own a book of business from prospecting through close, adoption, and expansion.
  • Strong customer relationship skills, including discovery, negotiation, and closing.
  • Comfort with consistent outbound prospecting, pipeline building, and accurate territory and forecast documentation.
  • Ability to work closely with cross-functional partners across sales development, customer success, renewals, marketing, partners, and technical teams.
  • Clear, structured communication skills and the ability to present a value proposition to different audience levels.
  • Interest in GitLab, open source, and software development tools, with the ability to connect business challenges to GitLab’s platform.
  • Willingness to travel to meet customers and attend events as needed.
  • Must be located in the Central, Mountain, or Pacific Timezones in the US.

  • Base salary range of $66,300 to $117,000 USD.
  • Sales roles are eligible for incentive pay targeted at up to 100% of base salary.
