Description

  • Analyze and understand complex legacy mainframe codebases using generative AI tools.
  • Identify patterns, dependencies, and opportunities for optimization in legacy systems.
  • Refactor, translate, or re-architect mainframe applications into modern languages and architectures.
  • Use AI-driven code generation to accelerate modernization while maintaining code quality and maintainability.
  • Design and implement data migration strategies from legacy mainframe systems to modern databases or cloud platforms.
  • Use AI to automate data transformation and help ensure data integrity.
  • Develop and execute testing plans to validate functional and performance requirements of modernized applications.
  • Use AI for automated test case generation and test execution.
  • Collaborate with mainframe experts, architects, and developers to define modernization goals and constraints.
  • Stay current with advancements in generative AI and apply them to improve modernization processes.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience using LLMs through APIs such as Claude or Gemini.
  • Familiarity with different LLM architectures and their strengths and weaknesses.
  • Understanding of prompt engineering techniques to improve LLM output.
  • Hands-on technical experience with cloud computing, including designing, deploying, and managing cloud-based solutions.
  • Cloud certifications in architecture, data engineering, and/or machine learning are preferred.
  • Background working with government technology projects and programs is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and connect with stakeholders.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required.
