Description

  • Define the long-term technical vision and architectural roadmap for B2B and consumer platforms.
  • Drive architecture decisions across microservices, APIs, database schemas, and data pipelines.
  • Write clean, optimized, and maintainable code for critical system components.
  • Establish engineering standards, lead code reviews, and promote modern testing practices.
  • Own reliability and performance for core platforms and troubleshoot complex systemic issues.
  • Optimize heavy PostgreSQL workloads and architect high-throughput infrastructure on AWS.
  • Mentor engineers across multiple squads and break down ambiguous technical problems into deliverable phases.
  • Partner with Product Managers, Pharmacy Operations, and Engineering Managers to assess feasibility and align technology decisions with business goals.
  • Architect systems with privacy by design and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA and SOC2.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and build prototypes or proofs of concept to de-risk new initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8+ years of progressive software engineering experience.
  • At least 3+ years of experience as a Tech Lead, Architect, or Staff Engineer designing complex distributed systems.
  • Expert-level mastery in at least one core language, preferably Ruby on Rails or Python.
  • Deep proficiency with PostgreSQL, TypeScript/JavaScript, and AWS cloud infrastructure such as ECS, RDS, Lambda, and VPC.
  • Proven experience designing, building, and scaling high-volume API-led transactional or logistical platforms.
  • Exceptional ability to explain architectural trade-offs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Availability during standard business hours with support for critical tier-3 escalation architecture needs if required.
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline is preferred.
  • Prior engineering experience in Pharmacy Tech, Digital Health, or regulated FinTech/HealthTech environments is preferred.
  • Deep understanding of healthcare data standards, pharmacy management systems, or EHR integrations is preferred.
  • Experience leading major architecture modernization efforts, such as monolith-to-services migrations or database overhauls, with zero downtime in AWS is preferred.
  • Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.
  • Must reside in one of the listed U.S. states eligible for FuzeRx roles.

Benefits

  • Salary range of $178,400 to $223,000.
