Description

  • Develop the payments and billing codebase and help shape its technical direction.
  • Own payment experiments and gateway integrations end-to-end, from scoping through delivery and analysis.
  • Optimize payment systems for reliability, performance, and security.
  • Lead and support team members through 1:1s, PDPs, mentoring, and alignment.
  • Maintain production payment services and troubleshoot issues during on-duty rotation.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product and Growth on payment initiatives.
  • Use AI-assisted development tools in day-to-day work.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of backend development experience.
  • 1–2+ years of experience leading or mentoring a small team in a tech lead or team lead role.
  • Strong PHP experience with a modern framework such as Yii2 and/or Laravel.
  • Experience with relational databases such as MySQL and/or PostgreSQL.
  • Experience with Git and Docker.
  • Software architecture design and testing discipline on high-load projects.
  • Experience estimating, decomposing, and prioritizing work against business goals.
  • Strong cross-functional communication and ownership skills.
  • Professional-level English for daily written and spoken collaboration.
  • Payments or fintech domain experience is a plus.
  • Experience with Kubernetes, GitOps (ArgoCD), and CI/CD (GitHub Actions) is a plus.
  • Go experience is a plus.
