Description

  • Work closely with the tech art lead to deliver art tooling requirements.
  • Liaise between art and tech teams to improve tools effectively.
  • Drive tooling improvements by helping identify the best technical and user-experience decisions.
  • Ensure tooling is intuitive and supports a strong user experience for artists.
  • Develop and support art pipelines in collaboration with programmers.
  • Help solve complex technical issues that affect art production and project delivery.
  • Document tooling improvements for the team to follow.
  • Promote standards and best practices and mentor less experienced team members.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the games industry as a technical artist.
  • Strong C# knowledge and experience for tool creation.
  • Strong Python knowledge and experience for tool creation.
  • Strong experience with Unity for art and tooling.
  • Understanding of Blender modeling and Blender tool creation.
  • Experience profiling CPU, GPU, and memory usage.
  • Experience designing intuitive user interfaces and user experience (desirable).
  • Experience with tooling for Substance Painter, Substance Designer, and ZBrush (desirable).
  • Strong technical knowledge in 3D modeling (desirable).
  • Experience optimizing for lower-end hardware (desirable).
  • HLSL/GLSL knowledge for creating performant shaders (desirable).
  • Experience with Amplify Shader Editor, Compute Shaders, Unity URP/HDRP, Shader Graph, and VFX graph creation/custom tooling (desirable).
