Description

  • Define and enforce infrastructure-as-code best practices using AWS CDK.
  • Architect, manage, and optimize AWS infrastructure across ECS, RDS Aurora, API Gateway, S3, and networking.
  • Build and maintain observability tooling, including structured logging, distributed tracing, metrics dashboards, and alerting in Datadog.
  • Establish on-call processes, incident response playbooks, and post-mortem practices to improve resilience.
  • Optimize database and container workloads for performance, availability, and cost.
  • Own cloud spend management through tagging, cost allocation, budgets, and regular cost reviews.
  • Strengthen cloud security through IAM policies, network segmentation, secrets management, vulnerability scanning, and compliance controls.
  • Improve developer experience by streamlining CI/CD pipelines, deployment workflows, and local development tooling.
  • Partner with backend, platform, and product engineers to translate infrastructure needs into reliable solutions.

Requirements

  • Strong experience with AWS services in production, including ECS, RDS Aurora, S3, API Gateway, IAM, and VPC networking.
  • Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools, particularly AWS CDK in Golang.
  • Hands-on experience with observability and monitoring tools such as Datadog, Grafana, or New Relic.
  • Solid understanding of relational databases in production, including query optimization, connection management, replication, failover, and backup strategies for Aurora/PostgreSQL.
  • Experience managing containerized workloads, including ECS, container image pipelines, service discovery, and scaling.
  • Comfort with Golang enough to read, debug, and contribute to backend services when needed.
  • Strong grasp of cloud security fundamentals, including least-privilege IAM, network segmentation, secrets management, and vulnerability remediation.
  • Experience with on-call rotations, incident management, and runbooks that reduce mean time to resolution.
  • Clear communication skills and experience working directly with engineering and product partners.
  • Experience with cost optimization tools and practices such as AWS Cost Explorer, Savings Plans, Reserved Instances, or FinOps platforms (nice to have).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD systems such as GitHub Actions (nice to have).
  • Exposure to service mesh, API gateways, or advanced networking patterns (nice to have).
  • Experience building internal developer platforms or self-service infrastructure tooling (nice to have).
  • Background in SOC 2, HIPAA, or similar cloud compliance frameworks (nice to have).
