Description

  • Own the reliability, performance, and scalability of the database infrastructure across Postgres and ClickHouse.
  • Build and maintain scalable data pipelines that support analytics, reporting, and product needs.
  • Design and evolve analytical schemas and translate business logic into structured data models.
  • Migrate and transform data from Postgres into ClickHouse with a focus on performance and reliability.
  • Develop and maintain DBT models that make data easily accessible across teams.
  • Implement tests and data quality checks to ensure datasets are reliable and trustworthy.
  • Identify and eliminate duplicates, improve data consistency, and enforce clean modeling standards.
  • Manage database and infrastructure changes through infrastructure as code, minimizing direct database modifications.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in a backend engineering or data-focused engineering role.
  • Strong proficiency in Python and SQL.
  • Hands-on experience with relational databases, particularly Postgres.
  • Experience designing schemas and building data models that reflect real-world business logic.
  • Familiarity with DBT or similar data transformation frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of data validation, testing, and quality assurance practices.
  • Experience managing infrastructure through IaC tooling such as Pulumi or AWS CDK.
  • Ability to quickly understand new business domains and translate them into clean, intuitive data models.
  • Experience with ClickHouse or other columnar databases is a plus.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based data orchestration tools such as Dagster or Step Functions is a plus.
  • Experience with CI/CD practices for data pipelines and transformations is a plus.
  • Experience operating databases at scale in a production environment is a plus.
