Description

  • Own the Billing product roadmap, outcomes, prioritization, quarterly goals, and success metrics.
  • Partner with Engineering to deliver resilient billing systems with accuracy, idempotency, retries, monitoring, incident response, and clear ownership boundaries.
  • Improve revenue protection and customer experience through dunning, failed payment recovery, refunds, and dispute or chargeback flows.
  • Define and maintain billing domain documentation, including data models, event flows, edge cases, and operational run-books.
  • Run discovery with internal teams and customers to identify pain points and opportunities, then turn insights into PRDs and delivery plans.
  • Establish and track core billing KPIs such as failed payment rate and recovery rate.
  • Drive antifraud strategy execution by setting priorities, success metrics, protections, monitoring, and fraud-response capabilities.
  • Continuously improve billing rules and operations based on observed patterns and business needs.

Requirements

  • 4–7 years of product management experience with at least 1–2 years owning a technically complex domain.
  • Strong understanding of payment processing, payouts, fee models, refunds and chargebacks, multi-processor setups, and reconciliation.
  • Proven ability to work with engineers on backend or system design trade-offs and ship reliable platform capabilities.
  • Comfort with data, including defining metrics, building measurement plans, and using analysis to prioritize and evaluate impact.
  • Clear written communication and structured thinking, with the ability to turn ambiguity into executable plans.
  • High ownership, high discipline, and strong cross-functional collaboration.
  • Experience with payment processors such as Stripe Payments or PayPal, or with financial systems integrations, is preferred.
  • Experience in B2B SaaS pricing and packaging or self-serve account management is preferred.
  • Familiarity with audit and compliance requirements affecting billing, such as SOX readiness or SOC2 implications, is preferred.
  • Experience reducing billing-related support contacts through product and tooling is preferred.
  • English fluency at C1 level is required.
