Description

  • Own the vision, strategy, and roadmap for Mercury's business lending product suite.
  • Drive the end-to-end customer journey from eligibility and discovery through application, underwriting, funding, servicing, and repayment.
  • Partner with risk and data science to design underwriting and decisioning experiences that balance speed, approval rates, and credit controls.
  • Work with design and engineering to create an application experience that feels effortless, transparent, and trustworthy.
  • Collaborate with banking partners, legal, and compliance teams to ensure the product is regulatory-compliant and operationally sound.
  • Define, instrument, and analyze core product metrics such as conversion, approval and decline rates, time-to-funding, loss performance, repayment health, and customer satisfaction.
  • Use customer insight, market research, and data to determine priorities and make tradeoffs between scope, risk, and speed.
  • Partner with marketing, sales, and support to launch the product and reach the right customers at the right time.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of product management or aligned experience.
  • At least 2+ years of experience in lending, credit, payments, or another regulated financial domain.
  • Experience building and scaling lending businesses.
  • Strong understanding of the lending lifecycle, including origination, underwriting, servicing, and repayment.
  • Proven ability to ship AI-first customer-facing products and iterate on them based on user needs.
  • Technical fluency and comfort partnering closely with engineers and data scientists.
  • Ability to translate technical complexity for business, risk, and compliance stakeholders.
  • Strong customer empathy with the ability to balance growth against credit, compliance, and operational realities.
  • Track record of using data and experimentation to drive decisions and measurable outcomes.
  • Comfort operating in ambiguity and setting direction in a fast-moving, greenfield product area.

  • Competitive base salary with a target range of $200,700-$250,900 for US employees or CAD 189,700-$237,100 for Canadian employees.
