Description

  • Engage prospects in a consultative sales process to position Fortanix as part of their core security infrastructure and operations.
  • Work with prospects early in the sales cycle to understand technical requirements and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Lead and support customer evaluations and proof-of-concept deployments with sales and technical teams.
  • Prepare, deliver, and document customer demonstrations and both formal and informal training sessions.
  • Maintain deep product and technology knowledge by working closely with Engineering and Product Management.
  • Gather product and market feedback from customers and partners to inform future product direction.
  • Support customer success efforts to drive renewals, references, and upsell opportunities.
  • Collaborate closely with Sales, Customer Success, Engineering, Product Management, customers, and external partners.
  • Own account-level technical activities that contribute to revenue goals and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as a sales engineer for enterprise IT security and infrastructure.
  • At least 7 years of experience as an enterprise sales engineer with infrastructure, cloud, or security vendors.
  • Experience in complex enterprise sales processes, including $1M+ deals.
  • Knowledge of programming or scripting languages such as Python or Bash.
  • Understanding of HSM and crypto interfaces such as PKCS#11, CAPI, CNG, and JCE.
  • Understanding of KMS interfaces such as KMIP and REST APIs.
  • Familiarity with HSM and KMS offerings in the cloud, such as AWS CloudHSM, AWS KMS, Google KMS, Azure KeyVault, and IBM KeyProtect.
  • Understanding of common HSM and KMS use cases such as database TDE, TLS termination, blockchain, and secure manufacturing.
  • Comfort working in a hands-on, fast-paced startup environment.
  • Experience selling to Global 1000 or Financial Services companies.
  • Strong consultative selling, technical collaboration, and communication skills.
  • BA/BS in a technical field; CISSP, Security+, or other security-focused certifications preferred.
  • Experience with HSM from another company is a plus.
  • Experience with a KMIP appliance is a plus.
  • Bonus points for experience with GenAI and RAG data architecture focused on data security in RAG pipelines.
  • Confidential Computing exposure is also a plus.
