Description

  • Design, build, and run cloud-native microservices in Go for the real-time payments platform.
  • Develop highly available, low-latency, scalable systems that handle billions of payment requests.
  • Own services end-to-end from initial design and implementation through deployment and production support.
  • Improve service resilience, simplify complex systems, and reduce operational risk.
  • Work on changes with careful attention to design, testing, release, and operations.
  • Collaborate with engineers, product teams, and operational stakeholders to evolve mature services.
  • Apply cost-efficiency, observability, and operational excellence in day-to-day engineering work.
  • Contribute to code quality, simplicity, and continuous improvement in a flat, autonomous team.
  • Work with modern cloud-native tooling and automated DevOps practices.

Requirements

  • Deep understanding of designing and building distributed systems.
  • Experience with Go.
  • Familiarity with cloud and containerisation technologies.
  • Experience with test automation tools and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Interest in owning projects end-to-end and supporting them in production.
  • Appreciation of clean code and software engineering best practices.
  • Strong communication skills and willingness to share knowledge and collaborate.
  • Experience working on complex, critical software where performance and robustness matter.
  • Comfort working with Kubernetes, CockroachDB, and NATS JetStream (preferred/used in the stack).
  • 100% remote working capability.
  • Knowledge of AWS, GCP, Azure, Terraform, Flux, GitHub, Prometheus, Pact.io, or Tilt is a plus.

Benefits

  • Base salary of €90,000-€140,000 in Germany, €85,000-€125,000 in the Netherlands, €65,000-€95,000 in Portugal or Spain, or £80,000-£120,000 in the UK.
