Description

  • Attend qualified sales calls and customer meetings to architect cloud, managed services, and hybrid colocation solutions for new logo customers.
  • Provide pre-sales technical expertise to the national sales team through direct prospect interaction.
  • Analyze customer requirements and design custom solutions focused on functionality and performance.
  • Create technical drawings, solution designs, and business-impact narratives to support sales recommendations.
  • Present complete CMS and hybrid solution designs to potential customers.
  • Ask open-ended questions to uncover business drivers and gather solution requirements.
  • Create quotes and documentation for implementation handoff after opportunity close.
  • Provide regional datacenter tours when needed.
  • Support post-sale resources with information transfer and ad hoc implementation support.
  • Stay current on product offerings, industry trends, and relevant technologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in an IT-related field preferred.
  • 8-15 years of experience in industry-relevant sales, consulting, or sales engineering.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and explain solutions to both business and technical audiences.
  • Technical, team-oriented background with a proven record of success in managed IT services.
  • Ability to translate complex technical issues into clear non-technical solutions.
  • Solid understanding of multi-tier, highly available cloud-based web applications and architecture methodologies.
  • Strong working knowledge of cloud platforms and hypervisor technologies such as VMware, AWS, Hyper-V, Azure, and Google Compute Platform.
  • Strong working knowledge of x86 enterprise server hardware and operating systems including Windows and Linux.
  • Working knowledge of MySQL, MS-SQL, and Oracle environments, including high-availability deployments.
  • Depth of knowledge of SANs, firewalls, load balancers, switches, and data center infrastructure.
  • Working knowledge of data center and IT security best practices.
  • Understanding of DR best practices and failover business impact.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, organization, and customer rapport skills.
  • Ability to travel 10% of the time and work after hours when required.
  • Valid driver’s license and insurance required for driving-related safety hazards.

Benefits

  • Base salary range of $185,000 - $215,000 annually.
  • Eligible for commission with an expected annual target of $50,000 - $60,000.
