Description

  • Architect cloud, managed services, and hybrid colocation solutions during qualified sales calls and customer meetings.
  • Conduct consultative discovery to identify customer requirements, business drivers, performance needs, and budgets.
  • Create technical drawings, solution designs, quotes, narratives, and customer presentations.
  • Design colocation architectures for medium-sized opportunities of up to 500 kW.
  • Maintain current knowledge of company offerings, industry trends, and emerging technologies.
  • Produce accurate implementation documentation and transfer solution information to post-sale resources.
  • Provide regional data center tours and ad hoc implementation support as needed.
  • Support national sales teams with regional affinity and travel to customer engagements when required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in an IT-related field or equivalent experience preferred.
  • 8–15 years of relevant experience in sales, consulting, and/or sales engineering.
  • Ability to design and explain solutions to both technical and business audiences.
  • Experience with cloud and managed services, multi-tier highly available applications, and infrastructure architecture.
  • Working knowledge of cloud platforms and hypervisors such as VMware, AWS, Hyper-V, Azure, and Google Compute Platform.
  • Knowledge of enterprise x86 servers, Windows and Linux operating systems, and data center infrastructure.
  • Working knowledge of MySQL, MS-SQL, and Oracle databases, including high-availability deployments.
  • Expertise with SAN storage, firewalls, load balancers, and switches.
  • Understanding of IT security and disaster recovery best practices.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States, reside in an eligible state, hold a valid driver’s license and insurance, and travel approximately 10%.

  • Base salary range of $160,000–$215,000.
  • Commission target of $50,000–$60,000 annually.
