Description

  • Build multi-tenant backend services for device registration, authentication, alerting, rule handling, notifications, and device shadow state.
  • Implement the MQTT ingestion pipeline using EMQX, normalize telemetry, and persist data to time-series storage and Aurora PostgreSQL.
  • Develop versioned REST APIs and real-time WebSocket delivery paths for high-concurrency dashboard updates.
  • Build the web application in Next.js and TypeScript, including monitoring dashboards, onboarding flows, and multi-tenant admin portals.
  • Render live telemetry and time-series visualizations such as line charts, gauges, and maps with low latency and no memory leaks.
  • Make independent UX and UI decisions, and maintain a reusable component library and i18n scaffolding with Arabic RTL support.
  • Provision and maintain AWS environments in the UAE region using Terraform with no click-ops.
  • Set up GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines, operate core infrastructure such as Kafka, Redis, and InfluxDB, and plan horizontal scaling for hundreds of thousands of devices.
  • Own platform architecture, AWS infrastructure, and key technology decisions as the senior technical lead.
  • Work autonomously with proactive documentation, including ADRs and runbooks, while maintaining overlap with UAE working hours.

Requirements

  • 5–9 years of full-stack engineering experience shipping production applications, with a portfolio showing strong execution on both frontend and backend.
  • Expertise in React/Next.js and TypeScript.
  • Proven experience handling high-frequency data streams and virtualized lists via WebSockets.
  • Production backend experience in Node.js/TypeScript and/or Python.
  • Strong data modeling and relational performance experience with PostgreSQL.
  • Genuine understanding of MQTT protocols, including topics, QoS, and LWT, plus device connectivity concepts.
  • Hands-on AWS infrastructure deployment experience and GitOps-driven Terraform workflows.
  • Proficiency with D3.js, ECharts, or similar tools for custom charts and geospatial device maps.
  • Ability to work autonomously with proactive documentation and at least 4 hours of daily overlap with UAE working hours.
  • Preferred: experience with Go for high-throughput backend services.
  • Preferred: production-scale self-hosted MQTT brokers such as EMQX or HiveMQ.
  • Preferred: experience with geospatial frameworks such as Mapbox GL JS, Leaflet, or Deck.gl.
  • Preferred: Kafka/MSK stream processing and Keycloak for RBAC/MFA.
  • Preferred: industrial domain exposure such as cold chain, telematics, smart buildings, or predictive maintenance.
