Description

  • Develop and maintain the Android mobile apps and SDKs used to enable payment transactions on Android-compatible devices.
  • Implement an SDK that integrates with Finix APIs and payment providers to support terminal-based payment collection.
  • Work with product management to define specifications and translate requirements into technical designs.
  • Integrate and support vendor libraries and payment terminal specifications from multiple providers.
  • Build features involving native payment methods, Bluetooth functionality, storage, location, and related device capabilities.
  • Own the implementation, best practices, and infrastructure within the Android/mobile domain.
  • Collaborate closely with product managers and peer engineers to deliver features and improve execution.
  • Proactively improve architecture, frameworks, tooling, automation, and engineering best practices.
  • Continuously deliver code, infrastructure, and tests throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Monitor running systems and troubleshoot production issues as needed.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in mobile application development.
  • Professional experience building publicly available Android apps using Kotlin or Java and RESTful web services.
  • Experience taking at least one publicly available app from inception to launch using automated tooling.
  • Experience with dependency injection tools such as Koin.
  • Experience with memory storage, management, and persistence.
  • Experience with Jetpack Libraries, Navigation, and Compose.
  • Experience with test-driven development and test automation.
  • Experience developing Android SDKs or libraries.
  • Experience building MVVM + Clean Architecture applications and libraries that support varied app architectures.
  • AOSP experience is a bonus.
  • Ability to lead proposals, design, and architecture work through research into use cases.
  • Comfort with cross-functional collaboration and communication to deliver quality code and features.

  • Base salary range of $130,000 CAD to $185,000 CAD per year.
