Description

  • Develop web-based applications using NodeJS, Webpack, Firebase, ElasticSearch, and GCP.
  • Maintain and support existing applications used at Outlaw.
  • Preserve and improve software quality through ongoing optimization and refinement.
  • Innovate on software features, processes, and underlying technology.
  • Query, manipulate, troubleshoot, and migrate data as needed.
  • Integrate and maintain proprietary and third-party APIs.
  • Perform detailed code reviews.
  • Mentor and review junior engineers as part of the team.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to provide escalated emergency support.
  • Communicate clearly with technical and management stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of Node.js backend development experience.
  • Strong TypeScript and JavaScript skills.
  • Experience with PostgreSQL database design and optimization.
  • Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs.
  • Experience with cloud platforms, with GCP strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Express.js or a similar web framework.
  • Experience with Docker and containerization.
  • Knowledge of authentication and authorization patterns.
  • Elasticsearch experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience with microservices architecture strongly preferred.
  • Experience with message queues strongly preferred.
  • Performance optimization expertise strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of security best practices strongly preferred.
  • Experience integrating AI/ML APIs such as OpenAI or Anthropic strongly preferred.
  • Experience with cloud functions or serverless development strongly preferred.
  • Experience integrating third-party APIs strongly preferred.
  • Background job processing experience strongly preferred.
  • Firebase Realtime Database experience is nice to have.
  • PDF and DOCX document processing experience is nice to have.
  • B.S. in computer science, information systems, or a related field; comparable certifications; or equivalent direct work experience.
