Description

  • Prepare, review, and file state and local tax compliance reports on monthly, quarterly, and annual cycles.
  • Maintain the compliance and tax calendar for sales and use tax permits and required filings.
  • Track tax law updates, assess business impact, and communicate changes or issues to management.
  • Review transactional data to determine proper tax treatment, investigate discrepancies, and adjust accruals and return data files.
  • Research product taxability by jurisdiction and summarize findings.
  • Review business proposals for tax implications and recommend actions that support business plans while managing tax liability.
  • Maintain spreadsheets, records, and documentation needed for tax and accounting compliance.
  • Respond to inquiries from tax authorities, vendors, and customers and maintain related files and reports.
  • Perform general ledger account analysis and reconciliations of key accounts.
  • Assist with month-end close, monthly general ledger closing, and other assigned accounting duties.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and work experience.
  • Continuing education is required due to continual changes in tax regulations.
  • Strong adaptability when work tasks, processes, or structures change.
  • Clear communication skills for conveying information to individuals and groups.
  • Ability to monitor information and set up ongoing review procedures.
  • Strong problem-solving ability with analytical and statistical examination skills.
  • Effective time management and resource management to complete work efficiently.
  • Comfort working collaboratively with cross-functional teams and systems initiatives.
  • Commitment to compliance, attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality.
  • Ability to leverage AI tools and technologies.
