Description

  • Manage technical accounting and financial reporting workstreams, including objectives, schedules, budgets, and task delegation.
  • Lead the forensic review, reconciliation, and normalization of complex historical financial data to establish audit-ready records.
  • Serve as an internal authority on ASC 606, ASC 805, principal-versus-agent considerations, M&A integrations, and DeFi yield protocols.
  • Lead preparation of financial disclosures, MD&A, registration statement materials, S-1/F-1 prospectus disclosures, and SEC engagement support.
  • Design, implement, and monitor SOPs for direct reports and offshore teams.
  • Improve integration between crypto sub-ledgers and NetSuite to strengthen the month-end close process.
  • Partner with Trading and Business Development teams to assess and operationalize accounting treatment for DeFi yields and wrapped assets before launch.
  • Lead cross-functional, high-priority projects and manage internal and external resources.

Requirements

  • Experience moving from Big 4 audit or technical accounting into accounting advisory or in-house accounting leadership at a high-growth digital-assets firm, fintech, broker-dealer, or investment bank.
  • Hands-on experience with financial recordkeeping, regulatory capital calculations, and filing frameworks for a CFTC Swap Dealer, Futures Commission Merchant, or SEC Broker-Dealer.
  • Experience managing multiple departments or workstreams, leading major projects, and delegating to direct reports or offshore teams.
  • Ability to build legal-entity financial statements from high-volume, unstructured data sources.
  • Proficiency with Workiva and NetSuite.
  • Direct experience with SEC pre-clearance, purchase accounting under ASC 805, and DeFi accounting.
  • Ability to partner cross-functionally with Trading and Business Development teams on product accounting impacts.
  • Flexibility to work across time zones during critical periods such as month-end close.
  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Benefits

  • Base salary range of $157,000 to $199,000 for New York City.
