Description

  • Develop and execute the strategy for advancing search algorithms.
  • Refine search query segment analysis to identify improvement opportunities and diagnose failure modes.
  • Improve offline and online metrics to better measure the retailer search experience and search system performance.
  • Evaluate technical tradeoffs across velocity, scale, cost, and modularity.
  • Collaborate with leaders across engineering, product management, data science, design, and operations.
  • Work with company founders and the CEO on product decisions.
  • Own product development for the search algorithms powering discovery.
  • Use data and machine learning-informed approaches to improve search outcomes for retailers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of product experience at a high-growth tech startup or as a startup founder.
  • Experience working on complex search systems.
  • Experience building high-scale products through state-of-the-art engineering and data science.
  • Regular use of ML/AI to solve business problems, with familiarity with recent advancements in the field.
  • Ability to learn new topics quickly and pick up new skills in a short time.
  • Strong resourcefulness and comfort executing with limited information and ambiguity.
  • Creative problem-solving ability for tough, unintuitive problems.
  • Passion for building products and solutions that create a strong customer experience.

Benefits

  • Salary range of $220,000 - $302,500 per year in San Francisco, CA.
  • Eligibility for equity.

  • Hybrid work schedule with 3 in-office days per week.
  • Flexibility to work remotely up to 4 weeks per year.
