Description

  • Design and implement end-to-end document intelligence pipelines on AWS.
  • Develop and optimize machine learning models for document classification, segmentation, and field extraction.
  • Build scalable data processing systems capable of handling PDFs up to 2,000 pages.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to define and refine extraction requirements.
  • Own features from research and proposal through production deployment and monitoring.
  • Establish evaluation frameworks and quality metrics for extraction accuracy.
  • Work with enterprise stakeholders to solve real-world document intelligence problems.
  • Support iterative solution development by communicating technical tradeoffs and recommendations.

Requirements

  • Advanced knowledge of Python, including native Python, Pandas, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow or PyTorch, PyStats, and Pydantic.
  • Experience with AWS tools for ML engineering and deployment, such as SageMaker, Lambda, CloudFormation/CDK, and Step Functions.
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL and data modeling.
  • Experience with GenAI for document intelligence, including prompt engineering, RAG, multimodal models, and deployment using AWS Bedrock or Azure OpenAI APIs.
  • Experience in experiment design, including power analysis and hypothesis testing.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for a remote, largely asynchronous work environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical problems clearly and propose iterative solutions.
  • Experience owning a feature from concept to production, including proposal, discussion, and execution.
  • Upper-intermediate English level.
  • Preferred: Experience with document processing tools such as AWS Textract, Azure Document Intelligence, or similar OCR and layout detection systems.
  • Preferred: Experience with PDF and image processing libraries such as PyMuPDF, OpenCV, and Pillow.
  • Preferred: Experience in machine learning or data science, including algorithm selection, feature engineering, model training, hyperparameter tuning, supervised and unsupervised learning, and model pipelines.
  • Preferred: Experience with AWS big data technologies such as Redshift, S3, EMR, and Glue.
