Description

  • Document the current technical landscape and define future-state target architectures.
  • Lead the technical strategy and remediation efforts needed to achieve and maintain FedRAMP authorization.
  • Define system boundaries and enforce compliant architectural decisions for government environments.
  • Design and enforce branching, merging, and release management strategies across commercial and government codebases.
  • Prevent codebase drift and manage feature toggling across compliance boundaries while preserving shared services.
  • Evaluate opportunities for future AI/ML integration and support proof-of-concept development for emerging technologies.
  • Align technology roadmaps, architectural decisions, and lifecycle planning with business objectives.
  • Conduct buy-vs-build analyses, vendor evaluations, requirement reviews, and level-of-effort estimations.
  • Architect scalable, low-latency integrations for video and telephony systems used in telehealth.
  • Define API strategy, governance, and integration patterns, and collaborate on data flow and data modeling best practices.
  • Translate government compliance frameworks and HIPAA requirements into actionable engineering and architectural standards.
  • Drive Zero-Trust architecture and partner with security teams on identity and access management strategies.
  • Integrate architecture practices with Agile, SAFe, CI/CD, and DevOps workflows across commercial and GovCloud deployments.
  • Participate in disaster recovery planning and ensure architectures meet business continuity requirements.
  • Mentor senior developers and tech leads while communicating technical trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of software engineering experience, including at least 3+ years in an enterprise architecture role.
  • Proven hands-on experience architecting software for FedRAMP authorization.
  • Deep familiarity with government cloud environments such as AWS GovCloud or Azure Government and boundary isolation requirements.
  • Strong understanding of cloud architectures across AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Experience with API gateways, microservices, and modern deployment pipelines.
  • Experience managing complex source control strategies for parallel release tracks.
  • Experience with video and telephony integrations in production systems.
  • Experience working with data models in a Ruby on Rails environment.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML architectural concepts and LLM integrations is a strong plus.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with experience influencing executive leadership.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
