Description

  • Scrape and analyse social media data to assess how platform features affect users.
  • Evaluate recommender systems and algorithms used on social media platforms.
  • Design and run account-based data-collection experiments using sock-puppet methodologies.
  • Create data visualisations that communicate social media insights to stakeholders.
  • Develop project work plans and timelines and support meetings and stakeholder interactions.
  • Track infrastructure needs, resource allocation, task progress, milestones and deliverables.
  • Coordinate communication between technical teams and project leadership throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements

  • University degree in IT or a related discipline, with at least 7 years of relevant professional experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience in data science, data analysis, data visualisation and quantitative research.
  • At least 3 years of experience building data pipelines, cleaning and processing data.
  • At least 3 years of experience in statistical analysis, machine learning and deep learning model development and evaluation.
  • At least 2 years of experience with account-based data collection, web scraping and large-scale digital or social media datasets.
  • Proficiency in data-science programming languages such as Python, R and SQL; Perl is optional.
  • Knowledge of machine learning, deep learning and NLP tools, including Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch and Hugging Face.
  • Knowledge of web-scraping tools, social media data collection and sock-puppet methodologies.
  • Knowledge of data engineering and data-visualisation tools, Agile methodologies and Git.
  • Knowledge of JIRA, Microsoft Project, Confluence and SharePoint; relevant certifications in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics or a related field are valued.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
