Description

  • Design and maintain scalable database architectures for analytical workloads.
  • Optimize database performance through indexing, partitioning, caching, and query tuning.
  • Develop, automate, and maintain data ingestion, transformation, validation, and loading pipelines.
  • Build reusable data connection modules and backend infrastructure components to support scalable data operations.
  • Support data preprocessing, normalization, and data quality validation processes.
  • Contribute to cloud migration planning and evaluate cloud solutions for security, compliance, interoperability, and performance.
  • Produce data models, architecture diagrams, flowcharts, and technical documentation for stakeholders.
  • Use PowerShell scripting and automation to improve data engineering workflows and system integration.
  • Collaborate with technical teams, security experts, and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering, database administration, or data architecture.
  • Proven experience designing and optimizing scalable database architectures for analytical workloads.
  • Experience with query performance tuning, including indexing, partitioning, and caching.
  • Hands-on experience building and maintaining automated data ingestion, transformation, validation, and loading pipelines.
  • Strong SQL skills with PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle, or similar relational databases.
  • Proficiency in Python or R for data transformation, automation, or pipeline development.
  • Experience with PowerShell scripting and automation.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS for cloud-hosted data solutions.
  • Knowledge of FedRAMP requirements and cloud security best practices.
  • Proficiency using Git with documented development practices.
  • Experience designing analytics data models, including dimensional star/snowflake and/or normalized relational models.
  • Experience collaborating with government program stakeholders and security/privacy personnel.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Tier 4 (High-Risk) Public Trust and HSPD-12/PIV credentialing.
  • Ability to travel approximately 10% as needed.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory and at least two of Azure SQL, Azure Blob Storage, or Azure Functions (preferred).
  • Active Public Trust clearance (preferred).
