Description

  • Design and develop maintainable, reusable web applications and UI modules for large-scale deployment and management.
  • Collaborate with product engineers, software developers, designers, product managers, and release engineers to deliver user-focused features and workflows.
  • Rapidly prototype web applications to demonstrate new concepts and ideas.
  • Design REST APIs needed to integrate the web application with back-end web services.
  • Enforce UI consistency, accessibility standards, and internationalization requirements.
  • Apply sound software design and development practices in day-to-day work.
  • Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
  • Participate in agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, standups, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Work in and improve legacy Dojo codebases as needed.
  • Support modernization efforts through incremental refactors, patterns, and tooling such as React, Preact, and Stencil.js.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience designing, building, and delivering web applications.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills across cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of core JavaScript/TypeScript and experience building object-oriented JavaScript.
  • Experience with JavaScript toolkits and UI frameworks/libraries such as React, Vue, Angular, jQuery, or Dojo.
  • Experience with HTML, DOM, CSS, event models, and cross-browser development.
  • Experience with AJAX, JSON, and REST.
  • Experience using version control systems such as Git.
  • Positive, professional approach when working through ambiguity, deadlines, or production issues.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and in groups throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, GIS, or a related field.
  • Experience with web server configuration and deployment, including Nginx, preferred.
  • Experience in a general-purpose programming language such as C#, Python, or Java, preferred.
  • Experience applying LLM technologies such as embeddings, RAG, and prompt engineering, preferred.
  • Experience with ArcGIS or other GIS concepts and familiarity with ArcGIS APIs, preferred.
  • Master's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, GIS, or a related field, preferred.
