Description

  • Act as the technical owner of SageMaker Unified Studio (SMUS) and Data Innovation Workbench (DIW), ensuring high availability, reliability, and security.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for platform infrastructure issues and escalations.
  • Ensure technical metadata, data lineage, and data quality are consistently captured and reliable through SMUS.
  • Enforce governance across integrated AWS services used for data handling, including S3, Redshift, MSK, and MWAA.
  • Define and implement Infrastructure as Code standards using AWS CDK, CloudFormation, and Terraform.
  • Manage and optimise cloud-native infrastructure for scalability, resilience, and maintainability.
  • Plan and execute infrastructure changes, upgrades, and platform improvements with minimal service disruption.
  • Collaborate with system owners to set up and maintain integrations with data stores, streaming platforms, and orchestration tools.
  • Design, deploy, and support integrations with additional systems such as analytics tools, streaming platforms, and operational databases.
  • Monitor platform usage, performance, capacity, and costs, and implement observability, alerting, and compliance reporting.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a DevOps, platform engineering, or cloud infrastructure role.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services and infrastructure.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as CDK, CloudFormation, and Terraform.
  • Experience supporting, and ideally owning, production-grade cloud platforms and services.
  • Experience monitoring, analysing, and optimising cloud costs using best practices and tooling.
  • Experience setting up and supporting CI/CD pipelines; familiarity with CircleCI is preferred or willingness to learn it.
  • Understanding of cloud security best practices and compliance requirements.
  • Experience implementing data governance capabilities in cloud-native environments is desirable.
  • Understanding of metadata, data lineage, and data & AI governance concepts is desirable.
  • Experience with AWS data platform workflows such as Redshift and S3 is desirable.
  • Familiarity with SQL is desirable.
  • Experience with Airflow or similar orchestration tools is desirable.
  • Experience with IAM, SSO integration, and role-based access control is desirable.
  • Experience with Kafka/MSK and modern data architectures is desirable.
  • Experience with SageMaker Unified Studio and Data Innovation Workbench, or similar data platform environments, is desirable.
