Description

  • Champion a security-first mindset across Engineering and help define the security posture of the platform infrastructure.
  • Design and build automation that continuously produces compliance evidence and maps HITRUST controls into tests and structured outputs for Vanta.
  • Embed security into the platform through guardrails, policy-as-code, and documented patterns that make secure defaults easy for application engineers.
  • Partner with the Security team to turn threat assessments and control gaps into engineering proposals with clear scope and tradeoffs.
  • Lead platform security initiatives from requirements and technical design through code review, deployment, documentation, and operationalization.
  • Contribute hands-on to CI/CD pipelines, container orchestration, observability, and developer tooling as an individual contributor.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation and own the systems you build, including production incidents.
  • Mentor engineers on security practices and help raise the team’s security baseline.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in cloud-native infrastructure or platform engineering roles with demonstrated technical growth and leadership.
  • Hands-on production experience with AWS and Kubernetes/EKS.
  • Deep understanding of supply chain risk, IAM/zero-trust patterns, secrets management, and platform-level vulnerability management.
  • Experience translating compliance frameworks such as HITRUST, SOC 2, or equivalent into engineering controls; Vanta or similar tooling is a plus.
  • Fluency in infrastructure-as-code using Terraform/HCL and at least one scripting language such as Python, Go, or Node.js/TypeScript.
  • Experience with modern CI/CD systems and related security concerns such as pipeline integrity, artifact signing, and registry controls.
  • Strong written communication skills and a track record of driving technical decisions in async, remote environments.
  • Experience in a fully remote, growth-stage, or regulated-industry company is preferred.
  • Developer enablement experience is preferred.
  • Comfort with Go, Node.js, or TypeScript is preferred; Redox is a TypeScript shop.
  • Experience with VPN administration or enterprise network security is preferred.
  • Experience with dependency management tooling such as Renovate or Dependabot is preferred.
  • Must be eligible to be employed in the U.S. and reside and work in the continental U.S.
