Description

  • Lead performance testing efforts, including requirements gathering, test planning, script development, test data creation, execution, and reporting.
  • Design, execute, and analyze load and stress tests using tools such as LoadRunner, JMeter, Gatling, and k6.
  • Perform bottleneck analysis with monitoring and APM tools such as Dynatrace to identify issues across system, application, and database layers.
  • Develop workload models from production statistics to simulate realistic traffic patterns, peak loads, and edge cases.
  • Collaborate with SRE, development, and database teams to diagnose performance issues and implement optimization strategies.
  • Profile and optimize code using best practices in algorithms, data structures, memory management, and concurrency.
  • Optimize system configurations and infrastructure to support scalability and low-latency performance under high load.
  • Conduct SQL database performance testing, tuning, indexing, and caching optimization.
  • Implement and maintain monitoring, observability, dashboards, logging, and tracing for proactive issue detection and root cause analysis.
  • Mentor junior engineers, lead workshops or tech talks, and propose tools or process improvements to strengthen performance engineering practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of performance engineering experience, including at least 3 years specializing in performance testing and system optimization.
  • Hands-on mastery of Microfocus LoadRunner, which is a must.
  • Experience with JMeter, Gatling, and k6 is highly desirable.
  • Deep understanding of system architecture and networking, including caching, distributed systems, Kubernetes (k8s), and networking protocols.
  • Advanced monitoring and observability experience, with proficiency in tools such as Dynatrace.
  • Strong code profiling and optimization skills, including algorithm selection, data structure efficiency, memory management, and concurrency patterns.
  • Strong database performance optimization knowledge, including query tuning, indexing strategies, and caching mechanisms.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to work across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Preferred experience with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or JavaScript, cloud environments, or contributions to performance engineering frameworks.
