Description

  • Scope new roles with hiring managers, defining candidate profiles, requirements, and timelines.
  • Advertise roles, seek referrals, and proactively source candidates through networks, job boards, communities, and outreach.
  • Design skills assessments and screening processes that reflect real work.
  • Manage candidate communications throughout the hiring process.
  • Screen applications in the ATS and calibrate evaluations with hiring teams.
  • Project-manage 5–10 simultaneous hiring rounds, including pipelines, scheduling, budgets, and decision timelines.
  • Coordinate interviews and paid work trials from role launch through signed offer.
  • For Senior Recruiter scope hiring analytics and recommend budgets for hiring rounds.
  • Advise first-time hiring managers on recruiting best practices and interview processes.

Requirements

  • 1–2+ years of recruiting experience, ideally at a small or early-stage organization; 3+ years for Senior Recruiter candidates.
  • Familiarity with applicant tracking systems, particularly Lever.
  • Comfort experimenting with AI tools in recruiting workflows.
  • Familiarity with the AI research landscape and adjacent research or nonprofit communities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong prioritization skills when managing multiple hiring rounds and stakeholders.
  • Ability to explain recruiting judgments transparently and challenge miscalibrated hiring standards constructively.
  • High agency and ability to independently find answers and solve problems.
  • Professional-level English proficiency; application materials must be submitted in English.
  • Ability to travel for three team retreats per year; overlap with UTC–8 or UTC time zones is preferred.

  • Annual salary of $105,000–$140,000 USD, adjusted by seniority and location.
