Description

  • Own the end-to-end portfolio implementation framework, including account setup, rebalancing, trading, cash management, transitions, and exception management.
  • Establish standards for drift management, cash flows, restrictions, householding, asset location, tax-aware implementation, and customization.
  • Oversee centralized trading and rebalancing, including trade reviews, client constraints, best execution, and exception resolution.
  • Design and maintain pre- and post-trade risk controls covering drift, concentration, liquidity, restrictions, and trading activity.
  • Develop KPIs and reporting for implementation accuracy, timeliness, tax outcomes, automation, capacity, service levels, and efficiency.
  • Own the strategy and roadmap for implementation technology, workflows, automation, and straight-through processing.
  • Standardize, simplify, automate, and redesign processes to support growth in clients, accounts, strategies, and assets under management.
  • Partner with Research, Portfolio Strategy, Technology, Operations, Compliance, and senior leadership on new capabilities, governance, audits, and regulatory inquiries.
  • Build and lead the Portfolio Implementation organization, including structure, capacity planning, performance standards, career development, and succession planning.
  • Serve on the Investment Committee and advise on investment platform strategy, resource allocation, technology priorities, and organizational design.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field; an advanced degree is preferred.
  • CFA designation strongly preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in portfolio implementation, portfolio management, trading, investment operations, or related roles within an RIA, asset manager, or institutional investment platform.
  • Deep knowledge of portfolio implementation, rebalancing, tax-aware trading, asset location, household-level portfolio management, and complex client transitions.
  • Experience leading centralized trading, rebalancing, or implementation teams supporting complex, multi-strategy portfolios.
  • Familiarity with custodial platforms, order management systems, and rebalancing or portfolio accounting technology.
  • Experience using technology, data, automation, and process redesign to improve quality, controls, efficiency, and scalability.
  • Experience building or transforming investment implementation processes, organizations, and technology in a growing or scaled wealth management environment.
  • Proven ability to lead senior professionals and build high-performing teams in complex, cross-functional organizations.
  • Strong judgment, communication, and influencing skills, with the ability to balance investment objectives, client needs, taxes, risk, operations, and scalability.
