Description

  • Serve as Greenlight’s on-site representative at contract manufacturers during builds, line walks, and production ramps.
  • Lead manufacturing readiness from supplier engagement through EVT, DVT, PVT, and stable mass production.
  • Own quality gates, including outgoing inspections, pre-shipment approvals, and hold-and-release decisions.
  • Manage engineering, tooling, sub-tier, and material change control through documented quality reviews.
  • Enforce ODM quality and reporting commitments and identify contractual gaps or supplier risks.
  • Manage third-party inspection agencies, including scope, AQL plans, inspection criteria, and performance reviews.
  • Lead nonconformance investigations through root cause, containment, corrective action, and verification.
  • Create supplier scorecards using returns and warehouse defect data and publish weekly quality reporting.
  • Source and qualify future suppliers through RFIs, RFQs, audits, cost comparisons, and second-source recommendations.
  • Ensure production documentation supports product certifications and applicable children’s-product safety standards.
  • Bridge communication between US engineering teams and factory partners.
  • Spend approximately 15–30% of working time visiting suppliers across the Greater Bay Area.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in supplier quality, sourcing, or manufacturing operations for consumer electronics or connected devices.
  • Significant experience working on ODM or contract-manufacturer factory floors in China.
  • Experience owning both quality processes and sourcing activities, including audits, inspections, CAPA, supplier identification, RFQs, cost analysis, and qualification.
  • Hands-on NPI experience taking consumer products from prototype through EVT, DVT, PVT, and mass production.
  • Working knowledge of 8D, 5-Why, FMEA, PPAP/FAI, SPC/Cpk, MSA, AQL sampling, and ISO 9001.
  • Deep manufacturing-process expertise in injection molding/tooling, SMT/PCBA, final assembly, or batteries.
  • Fluent Mandarin and strong written and spoken business English; Cantonese is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel frequently to supplier sites in the Greater Shenzhen Bay Area, particularly during critical development periods.
  • Ability to work independently as the only team member in the time zone and occasionally work evenings overlapping with US Eastern hours.
  • Preferred qualifications include CQE, Six Sigma Black Belt, or ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification; experience with children’s products, regulated products, NFC/payment hardware, wearables, inspection agencies, startups, or first-in-country roles is a plus.
