Description

  • Administer, configure, monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise Oracle database environments.
  • Create, configure, and manage standalone Oracle databases and Oracle Grid environments.
  • Manage backup, recovery, disaster recovery, and point-in-time recovery using Oracle RMAN.
  • Perform database installations, upgrades, maintenance, patching, and scheduled after-hours support.
  • Maintain high-availability and disaster-recovery capabilities.
  • Diagnose database, server, application integration, and performance issues.
  • Perform advanced SQL and database performance tuning, including optimizer and storage troubleshooting.
  • Develop and maintain PL/SQL scripts, automation, and operational standards.
  • Monitor database health, capacity, performance, security, and alerting systems.
  • Respond to incidents, service requests, and change requests; lead complex incident response and root-cause analysis.
  • Document configuration changes, troubleshooting, maintenance, and support activities.
  • Collaborate with application, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and technical teams and communicate findings to stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in database administration or related disciplines.
  • Advanced hands-on Oracle database administration experience in enterprise production environments.
  • Experience with Oracle Database, Oracle Grid, Oracle RMAN, PL/SQL, backup and recovery, patching, and maintenance.
  • Experience supporting high availability, disaster recovery, database monitoring, alerting, security, and auditing.
  • Experience with database performance tuning, incident troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across technical teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Current or previous Oracle professional certification preferred.
  • Experience supporting federal government IT environments preferred.
  • Experience with OCI or other cloud-hosted databases, ServiceNow, SolarWinds, or Idera preferred.
  • Exposure to SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, or MS Access preferred.
  • Ability to participate in scheduled after-hours maintenance; position is contingent upon contract award.
