Description

  • Ingest new data sources into the CMS Chronic Conditions Data Warehouse.
  • Build, optimize, and maintain database views integrating new and existing datasets.
  • Design and support ETL workflows in a cloud data warehouse such as Snowflake.
  • Participate in production operations and rotation-based ETL load support, including occasional off-hours or weekend work.
  • Document processes, business logic, troubleshooting procedures, and technical references.
  • Collaborate with analysts, technical leads, and CMS partners to align data structures with program needs.
  • Identify and resolve database and performance issues.
  • Disseminate healthcare data to researchers studying quality and cost improvements for chronically ill beneficiaries.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in data science, computer science, information systems, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of Database Developer experience, preferably in government or healthcare.
  • Hands-on experience with SQL, Python, ETL development, and Snowflake concepts.
  • Understanding of data management practices including permissions, recovery, security, and monitoring.
  • Ability to translate business and front-end requirements into backend solutions.
  • Knowledge of .NET Framework, JavaScript, HTML, and Oracle.
  • Exposure to AI or machine learning for data quality and anomaly detection.
  • Strong communication skills and a proactive problem-solving approach.
  • Experience supporting CMS or similar federal healthcare data programs preferred.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance; employment is contingent on a background investigation.
