Description

  • Create Low Level Design (LLD) documents to support client onboarding and migration work.
  • Provide technical guidance to Sales and Solution Architecture teams.
  • Work directly with prospective and new clients to identify components in scope for onboarding and migration.
  • Perform end-to-end server builds for client onboarding and migration projects.
  • Support DB2 for one or more clients, including maintenance and upgrades.
  • Upgrade and support ISV software related to DB2.
  • Test and monitor DB2 workloads after OS or CPU upgrades.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve DB2 system database and software issues.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams during knowledge transfer, shadowing, and transition into Ensono support.
  • Serve as a primary technical contact for mainframe database support during client transitions.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working in a z/OS environment.
  • Experience supporting DB2 z/OS from a Systems or DBA perspective.
  • Experience with DB2 on z/OS and related ISV software products on the z/OS platform.
  • Experience with SMP/E, including base installation and maintenance application for DB2 and related ISV software.
  • Familiarity with mainframe functional areas such as z/OS operating system, storage, databases, CICS, and disaster recovery concepts.
  • Ability to interact with ISV vendors for problem determination and resolution.
  • Ability to host meetings and conference calls.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel for creating client-shared documents.
  • Experience upgrading DB2 z/OS.
  • Understanding of DB2 Connect, security exits, DB2 data sharing in a SYSPLEX environment, DB2 log extraction, and DB2 system recovery.
  • Experience with CICS or the z/OS operating system is a plus.
  • Experience with IDAA is a plus.
  • Experience with IMS and IMS upgrades is a plus.
  • Familiarity with ISV products such as CA database tools, IBM database tools, Sysview, Omegamon, and Mainview is preferred.
