Description

  • Design, build, and manage AWS infrastructure using Terraform and reusable modules.
  • Operate and optimise AWS services such as ECS, EC2, Lambda, SQS/DLQ, CloudWatch, and IAM.
  • Develop and improve CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and CodeDeploy for reliable deployments.
  • Build and enhance logging, monitoring, and alerting across distributed systems.
  • Implement and manage identity and access controls, including SSO and access brokering.
  • Collaborate with Security on platform hardening and integrations with security tools such as SIEM and DLP.
  • Contribute to platform engineering initiatives and infrastructure standardisation.
  • Drive AWS cost optimisation through rightsizing, reserved capacity, scaling strategies, and cost visibility.
  • Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement long-term fixes.
  • Work with Engineering and Compliance teams to secure containerisation and maintain PCI DSS, ISO27001, and SOC2 compliance.

Requirements

  • Strong experience as a Senior DevOps or Platform Engineer in AWS environments.
  • Deep hands-on expertise with AWS services including ECS, EC2, Lambda, IAM, CloudWatch, and SQS.
  • Strong knowledge of AWS networking, including VPC design, routing, security groups, NACLs, and private/public architectures.
  • Proven experience with Terraform, including building reusable modules.
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code approaches; Terraform preferred, but alternative IaC tools considered.
  • Solid understanding of the AWS Well-Architected Framework and cloud best practices.
  • Experience designing and operating multi-region architectures.
  • Strong CI/CD experience with GitHub Actions, CodeDeploy, or similar tools.
  • Experience with identity and access management, including SSO.
  • Strong Linux and containerisation knowledge, including Docker and ECS.
  • Experience building and maintaining observability and monitoring systems.
  • Experience with security tooling integrations such as SIEM and DLP is desirable.
  • Experience working in regulated environments such as PCI DSS or ISO 27001 is desirable.
  • Experience with Terraform automation tooling such as Terraform Cloud or Atlantis is desirable.
  • Familiarity with Internal Developer Platforms or self-service infrastructure models is desirable.
  • Experience with Cloudflare WAF or similar edge security tooling is desirable.
  • Exposure to Kubernetes (EKS or other) is desirable.
  • Exposure to Kafka is desirable.
  • Familiarity with MongoDB is desirable.
  • Scripting or programming experience in any language is required; Rust is a bonus.
