Description

  • Perform final verification of compounded prescriptions, including dosing accuracy, labeling precision, allergy review, interaction screening, and required documentation before release.
  • Evaluate prescriptions for therapeutic appropriateness, identify dosing or formulation risks, and communicate with prescribers to resolve questions or concerns.
  • Maintain patient safety by identifying discrepancies, preventing dispensing errors, and enforcing clinical safeguards throughout the verification process.
  • Monitor dispensing queues, prioritize urgent prescriptions, and balance turnaround expectations with clinical accuracy in a high-volume environment.
  • Work closely with pharmacy technicians during filling and packaging workflows, reinforcing quality standards and correcting deviations immediately.
  • Identify workflow inefficiencies, documentation gaps, and rework patterns, and recommend process improvements that increase throughput and maintain compliance.
  • Apply state pharmacy regulations, USP standards, internal SOPs, and controlled substance requirements consistently across dispensing workflows.
  • Maintain audit-ready documentation and inspection-ready practices while proactively addressing compliance risks and procedural gaps.
  • Use AI-assisted verification tools, clinical decision support systems, barcode systems, automation platforms, and digital workflow tools to improve accuracy and efficiency.
  • Analyze dashboards, error reports, and workflow metrics to identify safety trends and operational improvements.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited institution required.
  • Active pharmacist license in good standing required, as applicable by state.
  • Minimum 1–3 years of experience in pharmacy operations, compounding, or clinical practice preferred.
  • Experience in 503A/503B compounding, sterile or non-sterile environments, or regulated healthcare settings preferred.
  • Strong understanding of pharmacy regulations, quality standards, and patient safety practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in high-volume, fast-paced environments with strong attention to detail and accountability.
  • Proficiency with pharmacy management systems, barcode verification tools, automation platforms, and AI-driven clinical decision support technologies.
  • Experience interpreting performance dashboards, error trends, and workflow metrics to support operational improvement.
  • Ability to manage dispensing queues, prioritize workload under pressure, and guide technicians through structured workflows.
