Description

  • Maintain, evolve, and improve the iOS app used by about half of the company’s users.
  • Own substantial features and technical systems across architecture, UI, networking, and local persistence.
  • Collaborate with Android and server teams on APIs and user data synchronization.
  • Turn product requirements into technical and UX options, including edge cases and tradeoffs.
  • Write automated tests for new code and help expand the team’s testing practices.
  • Work closely with QA to reproduce issues and support release quality.
  • Diagnose and fix performance bottlenecks, UI hitches, memory leaks, and other app issues.
  • Review real-world feedback and continue supporting features after release.
  • Pair with teammates and contribute ideas while learning from others.
  • Communicate technical details clearly in written English and participate in real-time collaboration as needed.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of professional experience building or maintaining a shipping native iOS app using Swift and Objective-C.
  • Experience owning substantial features or technical systems.
  • Strong experience with Xcode, UIKit, SwiftUI, Core Data or SQLite, network requests, and model state management.
  • Experience writing UI automation tests.
  • Ability to diagnose nondeterministic failures involving async behavior, networking, simulators, and real devices.
  • Experience using Xcode Instruments to diagnose bottlenecks, UI hitches, and memory leaks.
  • Experience with crash reporting, logging, analytics, and CI or automated test output.
  • Ability to challenge requirements thoughtfully and recommend simpler or more valuable solutions.
  • Must live in the United States and be able to work 9-5 Eastern, Central, or Mountain Time.
  • Preferred: An app you have worked on is available in the App Store; Android development experience; JavaScript or TypeScript; C++, C, Rust, or Zig; GIS, mapping, navigation, geofencing, document capture, barcode scanning, image processing, or accessibility experience.
