Description

  • Own the architecture and technical direction for the Agent Framework team.
  • Design a scalable agent-layer architecture and evaluate technologies to improve performance.
  • Review existing architecture and lead architectural discussions to drive decisions.
  • Provide technical guidance, conduct code reviews, and raise engineering standards across the team.
  • Engage stakeholders to gather requirements and work with product management to prioritize features.
  • Coordinate collaboration across teams and adjust plans as priorities and feedback change.
  • Identify project risks and take action to mitigate delivery issues.
  • Write design docs and support consensus-building around technical decisions.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a technical lead or principal engineer on agent, daemon, or systems-level software at scale.
  • Experience managing distributed deployments, versioning, and backward compatibility.
  • Deep knowledge of observability data collection, including metrics, logs, traces, and protocols such as OTLP, Prometheus Remote Write, and syslog.
  • Strong background in Go.
  • Experience designing management and control planes for distributed software, especially protocol-driven approaches like OpAMP.
  • Track record of leading large, multi-team technical initiatives from ambiguous design space to shipped software.
  • Ability to move between projects and codebases and work across teams based on changing business priorities.
  • Strong written communication skills, including producing design docs and ADRs.
  • Direct experience with Elastic Agent, Fleet, Beats, or OpenTelemetry collector internals (bonus).
  • Experience with OpenTelemetry collector configuration, OTLP transport, or upstream contribution (bonus).
  • Experience with cross-platform testing across Linux, Windows, macOS, containers, and Kubernetes (bonus).
  • Knowledge of pipeline execution models and processing languages such as Streamlang, Logstash, or Fluent (bonus).
  • Experience with CloudFormation, Terraform, or other infrastructure-as-code tools in agent deployment (bonus).
  • Contributions to open source projects in the observability or agent ecosystem (bonus).
  • Comfort working async-first across a globally distributed team (bonus).

  • Typical starting salary range of €80,400 to €127,200 EUR.
