Description

  • Lead a team of three counsel and contracts professionals handling commercial contract negotiation and structuring.
  • Draft and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including channel agreements, cloud/SaaS and software subscription contracts, procurement agreements, NDAs, RFPs, and related professional services agreements.
  • Provide regional legal support for APJ compliance, employment, litigation, and investigations matters.
  • Collaborate closely with the global Legal Department and key internal stakeholders across Elastic.
  • Support APJ and global legal team members on ad hoc projects as needed.
  • Build and improve workflow processes between Legal and other departments to support dealmaking and compliance initiatives.
  • Identify and leverage AI tools and automation opportunities to improve legal operations.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in-house, at a law firm, or a combination of both.
  • Legal authority to practice law in India.
  • Proven experience drafting and negotiating technology contracts.
  • Experience with APJ compliance, employment, litigation, and investigations matters.
  • Ability to balance legal risk with business strategy.
  • Self-starting, proactive, driven, and adaptable approach to managing shifting priorities.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills (preferred).
  • Track record of delivering thoughtful, user-experience-focused results (preferred).
  • Experience representing high-growth companies is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a distributed team environment.
  • Ability to participate in limited travel.
  • Based in Pune or Bangalore, India.
