Description

  • Design and build the core BigQuery and dbt infrastructure for Elastic’s marketing intelligence foundation.
  • Develop the semantic layer and structured knowledge base that enables AI agents to reason over business data.
  • Integrate digital, product, and sales signals into a unified lifecycle model from discovery to revenue.
  • Create high-fidelity, agent-ready data products from raw marketing and business signals.
  • Partner with Enterprise, Product, Sales, and Finance teams to align on shared metrics.
  • Mentor other engineers and help maintain high standards for the data foundation.
  • Establish a source of truth for customer journey and performance reporting across the organization.
  • Support scalable GTM efforts by structuring data for human reporting, predictive science, and conversational AI.

Requirements

  • Deep experience with BigQuery, dbt, and semantic layers such as dbt Semantic Layer or Vortex AI.
  • Proven ability to apply automation or LLM-assisted workflows to the data modeling lifecycle.
  • Experience designing complex, interconnected systems and extensible frameworks.
  • Strong systems thinking and architectural design skills for simplifying complex data environments.
  • Track record of translating technical debt into business value and coaching peers through architectural challenges.
  • Deep experience implementing data contracts, automated quality monitoring (DQM), and governance frameworks.
  • Ability to ensure metrics remain consistent, secure, and reliable across the enterprise.
  • Strong understanding of Go-To-Market mechanics, including customer acquisition, attribution, and revenue, preferred.
  • Familiarity with Marketing Mix Modeling (MMM), causality, or incrementality analysis, preferred.
  • Understanding of GDPR/CCPA compliance and data privacy/consent management, preferred.
  • Experience with Identity Stitching or Customer 360 frameworks, preferred.
  • Experience moving AI models or agentic workflows from pilots into production deployments, preferred.

Benefits

  • Base salary with no variable compensation component.
  • Typical starting salary range of $159,800 to $252,800 USD.
  • Typical starting salary range of $191,900 to $303,500 USD in select locations, including Seattle, Los Angeles, the San Francisco Bay Area, and New York City Metro Area.
  • Eligibility to participate in Elastic’s stock program.
  • Company-matched 401(k) with dollar-for-dollar matching up to 6% of eligible earnings.
