Description

  • Design and build the core BigQuery and dbt infrastructure for Elastic’s marketing intelligence platform.
  • Develop the semantic layer and structured knowledge base that enables AI agents to reason over business data.
  • Integrate signals across digital, product, and sales sources into a unified lifecycle and customer journey model.
  • Create agent-ready data products that transform raw signals into high-fidelity, reliable data assets.
  • Partner with Enterprise, Product, Sales, and Finance teams to align on shared metrics and definitions.
  • Mentor other engineers and help maintain high standards for the data foundation.
  • Apply governance, data quality monitoring, and data contract practices to keep metrics consistent and trustworthy.
  • Translate complex technical architecture and data issues into business value for stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Deep experience with BigQuery, dbt, and semantic layers such as dbt Semantic Layer or Vortex AI.
  • Proven ability to apply automation or LLM-assisted workflows to the data modeling lifecycle.
  • Strong architectural design skills for building complex, interconnected, and extensible systems.
  • Systems and design thinking with the ability to simplify complex data environments.
  • Experience treating data as a product and ensuring it is discoverable and reliable for human users and AI agents.
  • Track record of collaborating with peers and translating technical debt into business value.
  • Deep experience implementing data contracts, automated quality monitoring (DQM), and governance frameworks.
  • Bonus: Strong understanding of Go-To-Market mechanics, including customer acquisition, attribution, and revenue.
  • Bonus: Familiarity with Marketing Mix Modeling (MMM), causality, or incrementality analysis.
  • Bonus: Experience with GDPR/CCPA compliance, identity stitching, customer 360 frameworks, or production AI/agentic deployments.
