Description

  • Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, allocations, and general ledger review.
  • Produce timely GAAP financial statements, management reporting, and variance explanations.
  • Prepare recurring reporting packages for executives, the Board, investors, lenders, and other financial stakeholders.
  • Manage budget-to-actual reporting, forecast accuracy, and collaboration with department leaders on expense visibility.
  • Maintain the chart of accounts, accounting policies, close calendar, supporting schedules, and financial documentation.
  • Oversee subscription revenue accounting under ASC 606, including contract review, revenue schedules, deferred revenue, and contract modifications.
  • Manage customer invoicing, accounts receivable, collections, cash application, and revenue-related reconciliations.
  • Partner with Sales, Customer Success, and Operations to align bookings, contracts, billing, renewals, and revenue reporting.
  • Oversee accounts payable, payroll accounting, banking activity, cash reconciliations, and cash forecasting.
  • Lead accounting systems, controls, compliance, process documentation, and team management while improving operational resilience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; active CPA strongly preferred.
  • Approximately 8+ years of progressive accounting experience with ownership of close and financial reporting.
  • Experience as a Controller, Assistant Controller, or senior accounting leader in a growing software, SaaS, data, subscription, or technology-enabled business.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and ASC 606 subscription revenue recognition.
  • Direct experience with billing, accounts receivable, deferred revenue, accounts payable, payroll accounting, cash management, and external audits or reviews.
  • Strong systems aptitude with experience administering or improving an ERP or general ledger, billing or revenue platform, and connected finance systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to design internal controls, document processes, and reduce key-person dependencies.
  • Experience supporting lender, investor, Board, or transaction diligence is preferred.
  • Excellent judgment, attention to detail, organization, and written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to work hands-on while improving the broader operating model.
