Description

  • Design and evolve scalable backend systems for the Commerce Platform, including CRM, CPQ, Billing, provisioning, and related data workflows.
  • Define and drive technical strategy for highly customized systems while balancing short-term delivery with long-term scalability and reliability.
  • Lead efforts to simplify legacy architectures, reduce fragmentation, and build generalized, product-agnostic solutions.
  • Own end-to-end reliability of revenue-critical systems, including validation, rollout safety, monitoring, and incident response.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Sales, Finance, and GTM teams to turn business needs into durable technical solutions.
  • Improve data integrity, system observability, and operational efficiency across the platform.
  • Take ownership of large, ambiguous problem spaces from definition through execution and influence both technical and business stakeholders.
  • Evaluate tradeoffs between immediate business needs and long-term platform health.
  • Measure and improve system reliability and data integrity across complex distributed workflows.

Requirements

  • BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field involving programming, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 12+ years of professional software development experience.
  • Proven experience building and maintaining large-scale, distributed backend systems.
  • Strong system design skills, particularly for complex, stateful, or workflow-driven systems.
  • Experience building reliable systems with a focus on validation, rollout safety, monitoring, and maintainability.
  • Experience working on monetary-domain systems such as ecommerce, subscriptions, billing, payments, or financial systems.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience influencing cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Experience with CRM, CPQ, Billing, ecommerce, or similar enterprise workflow platforms, such as Salesforce (preferred).
  • Track record of simplifying or modernizing legacy systems into scalable, maintainable architectures (preferred).
  • Experience improving data consistency and integrity across distributed systems (preferred).
  • Experience working on revenue-critical or monetization platforms at scale (preferred).
  • Demonstrated ability to influence technical direction across teams without direct authority (preferred).
