Description

  • Design and own scalable, production-grade data pipelines across ingestion, transformation, and serving layers.
  • Define and enforce canonical data models aligned to business domains.
  • Architect pipelines for scalability, reliability, cost efficiency, and performance tuning.
  • Build and optimize data workflows using Databricks and related technologies.
  • Establish data quality, validation, and testing frameworks across pipeline layers.
  • Ensure pipeline reliability through retries, idempotency, and failure handling.
  • Partner with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into data products.
  • Develop and maintain data integrations and APIs for data access and interoperability.
  • Implement data governance, security, and compliance best practices.
  • Mentor engineers and contribute to engineering standards and team culture.
  • Troubleshoot and continuously improve data infrastructure and workflows.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in data engineering.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Databricks certification is required.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with Databricks tools including Spark, Delta Lake, Delta Live Tables, Autoloader, and Unity Catalog.
  • Experience with modern big data ecosystems such as Kafka.
  • Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL.
  • Extensive experience building scalable ETL/ELT pipelines.
  • Experience designing data models such as dimensional, entity-based, and slowly changing dimensions (SCD).
  • Deep understanding of data warehousing and Lakehouse/medallion architecture patterns.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud and their data services.
  • Experience building data products consumed via APIs or analytics tools.
  • Strong understanding of data governance, access control, and regulated data environments.
  • Proven ability to define engineering standards, mentor engineers, and collaborate in fast-paced environments.
