Description

  • Build and maintain complex, highly interactive UI components for the Omnigive donation form using vanilla JavaScript.
  • Connect frontend functionality to the Ruby on Rails backend and ship features end to end.
  • Write idiomatic Ruby on Rails code using ActiveRecord, controllers, and ViewComponents.
  • Analyze product requirements with a Jobs-to-be-Done mindset and consider edge cases and error states.
  • Review peer pull requests, communicate blockers proactively, and collaborate to ship value safely and quickly.
  • Write clear PR descriptions, document non-obvious decisions in commit messages, and update internal documentation.
  • Take ownership of well-scoped features and surface adjacent work needed for a polished final product.

Requirements

  • Deep comfort with vanilla JavaScript.
  • Ability to ship features in Ruby on Rails without close supervision.
  • Experience writing SQL beyond simple queries, including joins, aggregations, and identifying N+1 problems in PostgreSQL.
  • Strong habit of writing automated tests with Minitest.
  • Experience using semantic HTML, global CSS via design tokens, and Hotwire (Turbo, Stimulus).
  • Track record of independently driving a well-scoped feature to completion.
  • Experience with PostgreSQL, relational databases, and MVC/object-oriented programming.
  • Fully remote based in Latin America.
  • Salary range: $52,200-$58,000 USD depending on experience and location.
  • Engineer II level reflects scope and impact, not tenure.
