Description

  • Develop SAS programs to validate surveillance, clinical, or research study data.
  • Verify that required variables are included in datasets and extraneous variables are excluded.
  • Identify data discrepancies and inconsistencies in resulting datasets.
  • Develop codebooks and data management plans.
  • Run duplicate checks and compare results to validate final datasets, indicators, coding, metadata, SAS programs, and output files.
  • Conduct geospatial and molecular HIV analyses and interpret results using R.
  • Collaborate with other analysts to develop new code for analyses.
  • Support dissemination and reporting of data to internal and external partners.
  • Work with federal partners to support funded jurisdictions and funded community-based organizations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in public health, statistics, or a related field.
  • 2 years of experience working with R or SAS.
  • Strong, demonstrated experience with SAS.
  • Familiarity with R coding.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with multiple data sources and assess data quality, including accuracy and completeness.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to obtain a NAC clearance.
  • Experience with HIV surveillance or research data is preferred.
  • Prior experience with CDC, HHS, or another federal or state health agency is preferred.
  • Master’s degree in public health, statistics, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience creating and managing dashboards using Power BI is preferred.
  • 2 years of experience generating SAS-based reports and exporting them to Excel, PDF, and HTML is preferred.
  • Knowledge of HIV, molecular data, and public health surveillance systems is preferred.
  • Experience with large document-based datasets of more than 500,000 observations is preferred.
  • Proficiency with SAS or R coding tools and methods such as SAS Macros, PROC SQL, and formats/informats is preferred.
  • Experience with behavioral or clinical surveillance data and/or primary or secondary research data is preferred.

  • Basic compensation of $50,000 to $70,000 per year.
