Description

  • Own the full project lifecycle, including concept development, design, programming, FAT, on-site commissioning, and ongoing support.
  • Manage multiple SCADA projects and coordinate work across engineering, project management, controls, electrical teams, and customers.
  • Lead the development of complex integrated HMI/SCADA systems and oversee a sector of HMI development.
  • Mentor and teach junior to mid-level engineers.
  • Partner with internal teams and external vendors to create development plans, code, test plans, and deployment/commissioning guides.
  • Document system specifications, interface designs, and test plans for FAT, SAT, and CAT.
  • Provide commissioning, troubleshooting, and integration support for SCADA and HMI systems.
  • Perform PLC commissioning work when needed outside of HMI activities.
  • Continuously improve development processes by applying best practices and industry standards.
  • Customize standard products to meet project-specific requirements.

Requirements

  • 2-3+ years of experience as an HMI/SCADA engineer or in a controls commissioning role.
  • Basic to intermediate experience with Aveva Edge is required.
  • Experience with at least one HMI/SCADA platform such as FactoryTalk, FT Optix, Ignition, Wonderware, or Indusoft.
  • Proficiency with industrial communication protocols such as TCP/IP and OPC UA.
  • Experience with protocols like Modbus, CAN, Profibus, and DeviceNet is a plus.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Aveva Edge scripting, including built-in scripting, Python, and VBScript.
  • Basic knowledge of Rockwell PLC programming is required.
  • Siemens, Schneider, or other PLC brand experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and layouts.
  • Knowledge of 480VAC 3-phase power, 120VAC, and 24VDC control circuits.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 Office apps and Microsoft Windows OS.
  • Azure DevOps or JIRA experience is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational, leadership, communication, and adaptability skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 60-80% to various sites.
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds, climb ladders, and navigate safely around warehouse automation equipment.
