Description

  • Design, scope, and deliver complex systems from architecture through implementation and testing.
  • Break work into well-defined milestones and provide accurate delivery estimates.
  • Write clear, well-tested code and create documentation that other engineers can extend and reference.
  • Resolve technical issues across software, infrastructure, networking, and security layers.
  • Own reliability, monitoring, logging, instrumentation, and operational quality for the systems you build.
  • Ensure systems meet performance, scalability, and security requirements in cloud and network environments.
  • Participate in incident response and root cause analysis.
  • Partner with product, security, infrastructure, and other stakeholders to define requirements and align execution with business objectives.
  • Informally mentor junior engineers through code review, pairing, and sharing technical context.
  • Participate in interview loops and technical discussions that shape engineering direction.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of professional software engineering experience delivering complex systems.
  • Strong proficiency in at least one core programming language, with the ability to learn new ones as needed.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, especially AWS or Azure.
  • Experience with networking constructs such as VPCs, subnets, security groups, and private endpoints.
  • Experience working across multiple layers of the stack, such as application, database, infrastructure, or security.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with cross-team stakeholders and deliver results with minimal oversight.
  • Strong understanding of system reliability, monitoring, and performance optimization.
  • Experience with production-grade APIs and services.
  • Strong understanding of cloud execution environments and how architecture affects them.
  • Strong understanding of databases, caches, queues, events, workers, network fundamentals, and network security practices.
  • Proficiency in one or more of Python, TypeScript, or Go.
  • Comfort using coding agents such as GitHub Copilot or Claude Code in daily work.
  • Experience on multiple teams or in multiple roles is preferred.
  • Willingness to accept feedback, learn quickly, and adapt in a fast-growing environment.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and succinctly in person and over team chat.
