Description

  • Design, review, and improve security architectures, standards, baselines, and remediation roadmaps across customer environments.
  • Administer and optimise Microsoft Defender security solutions, including Defender XDR, endpoint controls, vulnerability management, and Secure Score improvements.
  • Design, configure, and troubleshoot Sophos Firewall, Sophos Central, endpoint security, network segmentation, VPN, SD-WAN, and related controls.
  • Design and maintain Zero Trust Network Access solutions integrated with Microsoft Entra ID and least-privilege access principles.
  • Own vulnerability and patch management, prioritising findings, leading remediation, validating fixes, and managing risks for unsupported systems.
  • Lead compliance remediation against Essential Eight, CIS Controls, NIST, ISO 27001, cyber insurance, and customer requirements.
  • Strengthen identity and endpoint security through Conditional Access, MFA, Privileged Identity Management, device compliance, encryption, hardening, and application control.
  • Lead complex security incident investigations, containment, remediation, root-cause analysis, and post-incident improvements.
  • Automate security checks, remediation workflows, deployments, and reporting using PowerShell, APIs, and reusable tools.
  • Mentor junior engineers and partner with customers, Account Managers, vCIOs, vendors, and internal teams on security roadmaps and escalations.

Requirements

  • Significant experience in an MSP, MSSP, or IT service provider environment.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Defender and the Microsoft security ecosystem.
  • Advanced experience with Sophos Firewall and endpoint security technologies.
  • Experience managing vulnerability management and patch management programs.
  • Experience implementing security controls across Microsoft 365 environments.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID, Zero Trust principles, Conditional Access, and identity security controls.
  • Solid networking knowledge, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, firewalls, VPNs, and network segmentation.
  • Strong Windows Server and endpoint troubleshooting skills, including complex escalations and remediation activities.
  • Knowledge of Essential Eight, CIS Controls, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, and ISO 27001.
  • Experience with ConnectSecure and Huntress is highly desirable; experience with Sophos ZTNA, Intune, Defender XDR, PowerShell, APIs, and MSP PSA platforms is advantageous.
