Description

  • Develop, test, and maintain scalable web applications using Ruby on Rails as the primary framework.
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and developers to implement user-friendly, visually appealing interfaces.
  • Build responsive and dynamic front-end features using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern server-side frameworks such as Ruby on Rails Hotwire or Phoenix LiveView.
  • Design and develop RESTful APIs, integrate third-party services, and manage databases using PostgreSQL or similar technologies.
  • Write code that meets internal standards for style, maintainability, and best practices, and support those standards through code reviews.
  • Test, debug, and optimize application performance to ensure stability and efficiency.
  • Own the full lifecycle of work items, shipping features and small improvements while collaborating on larger projects when needed.
  • Set and meet timeline expectations, escalate delays early, and work effectively in a fully remote agile process.
  • Participate in technical design discussions, pair programming, and cross-team communication.
  • Provide advice and coaching on technical approaches in areas of expertise and contribute to continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Strong full-stack development experience with both back-end and front-end work.
  • Experience building web applications with Ruby on Rails.
  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern server-side frameworks such as Hotwire or Phoenix LiveView.
  • Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and working with PostgreSQL or similar databases.
  • Ability to work remotely in a self-directed, autonomous way.
  • Strong communication skills, including clear communication in small team forums and during pairing.
  • A problem-solving mindset with grit, ownership, and a growth mindset.
  • Comfort working in an agile, iterative software development process.
  • Nice to have: Experience with Salesforce Service Cloud or Salesforce Commerce Cloud.
  • Nice to have: Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Heroku, DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, mobile development, or responsive design.
